Captain Steve was fantastic! Even without a deckhand, he handled everything effortlessly. On our first drop, we landed two halibut and ended the half-day trip with three more. We also hooked two sharks, which we released. Overall, it was an amazing trip with a great boat and awesome vibes all around!

I finally decided to book a trip with Deadliest Kast and Captain Steve, and it was well worth the wait. I had been trying to catch a sturgeon on my own from shore in several spots but never hooked one. Captain Steve put us on fish right away, with a hookup in the first 10 minutes. He provided all the guidance and gear we needed, and we ended up with three keepers (all firsts for us) plus a fourth that made it to the boat. I walked away with not only great fish but also plenty of valuable tips and knowledge. The boat was comfortable for the four of us, and all the gear worked perfectly. Captain Steve was punctual, helped filet our catch, and even offered advice on how to cook it. I had been thinking about booking with him for 2–3 years, and I wish I had just done it sooner. While not every trip will be exactly like this, he will absolutely put you on fish and teach you a lot along the way if you want to learn. If you’re on the fence about booking, my advice is to just go for it. I’ll definitely be booking another trip!

We spent a beautiful Monday morning trolling the Bay, and Captain Steve showed off his expertise by helping my mother-in-law catch her first halibut! The trip was a lot of fun, filled with stories and tips along the way. We went out on his smaller boat for a private day, which was perfect for learning the techniques and understanding exactly what we were doing.
